IBC Remains People’s Mouth Piece -Ekechi

The newly appointed commissioner for Information, Chief Theodore Ekechi has described the Imo state owned Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) as the mouth piece of the masses.
Speaking at the 6th year anniversary ceremony of an Owerri based tabloid Eastern News last week Friday 15th November 2013, which took place at NUT secretariat Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, Chief Ekechi disclosed that he is conversant with media work and would give the state owned media organizations a befitting face.
He noted that IBC is open for everybody to air their views as long as it is constructive in order to move the state forward.
“I will inject fresh blood into IBC. My appointment as information commissioner will be a testimony. IBC will take over the air wave from other broadcast media in the state” he assured.
The information commissioner commended Independent Newspapers publishers in Imo State and charged them to always publish stories that would attract wide readership. He advised that Journalist should always cross check their facts before going to the press to avoid libelous publications.
He further disclosed his plan to partner with Journalists in the state to serve the masses better.
Adding his voice, the Director General of Imo State Orientation Agency, Chief Ford Ozumba enjoined Journalists to always maintain high and esteem integrity in carrying out their duty.
