There was a sigh of relief at Trumpeta Newspapers News Room on Monday, as the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha swore-in his new appointees. Reason? Life has been on edge for the Trumpeta Publishers as legions of threats roled in everyday, from those penciled down for appointment, but were still waiting for inauguration.
The Newspaper had been analyzing the list of the appointees, which many of them did not like, as they felt such write-ups may expose their political leanings and force Okorocha to delist their names from the nominees list.
Infact, one particular nominee from Mbaise clan called Popular Side and warned that should Okorocha drop his name as Commissioner he would not only sue Trumpeta, but make sure that “somebody died”.
Another confronted popular side at a burial in Isiala Mbano LGA and threatened to assault him, as he caused the wife’s name from making the list. But thank God the woman has returned as commissioner last Monday.
Praise the lord! These nominees have all been inaugurated. But Popular Side wants to warn that, it was just the beginning, as the main assignment has started. It is the job of Popular Side to assess these Commissioners from time to time until they leave office. The journey has just begun. So, let the threats continue.
