Commissioner designate in Imo State, Hon Kenneth Emelu can be said to be a real politician who understands the game. Emelu, who was formerly commissioner for youths and sports before the exco dissolution showed the real “politicks” involved in sports politics when Heartland FC of Owerri, hosted Rangers International FC of Enugu at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Wednesday. As the tension soaked match progressed and the darling club of Owerri people were down with a lone goal, Emelu tried to pull “eye service” stunt before the Governor, Rochas Okorocha and his Deputy, Eze Madumere, when he stood up from his seat at the VIP section rail, blocking the view of other dignitaries present, and turned himself a coach. Popular side observed that Emelu who has not been a regular to heartland matches at Dan Anyiam stadium since he was relieved of his position, may have done the “eye service” to impress the Governor and his Deputy present at the VIP section.
