Okorocha’s Logic In Judging Aides’ Performance

Every Chief Executive, be it a Governor, Head of Department, Editor-in-Chief, including Chief Mechanic has his/her own method of measuring the output of his/her subordinates. In Imo State, before the State Executive Council was dissolved by the Governor, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha, he assembled all his Commissioners at the Ahiajoku Centre, Owerri, where he acknowledged some of them as having done well, and showered them with Awards, while others went home empty handed, indicating they failed, having done badly in office.
Among those who won Award was the former Commissioner for Commerce, Ichie Best Mbanaso. However, this baffled some of his colleagues who felt Mbanaso did not do better than they.
Therefore, during a State Executive Council meeting, POPULAR SIDE learnt, some of the Commissioners pleaded with His Excellency to inform them on the criteria he used in judging them so that they can make amend.
The Governor replied them that he saw Ichie Mbanaso inspecting some road contracts at the dead of the night.
Pray, what has a Commissioner for Commerce got to do with road construction and inspection? Is that his beat? Does he have the details of the job so as to know what to inspect? How would he feel if another “Busy Body” Commissioner visits his Ministry to inspect a project? Does it mean that even the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice can inspect road contracts? Can Commissioner for Health inspect projects in the Ministry of Lands? Please, ask the appropriate quarters! No be POPULAR SIDE go talk o!
