(1) The new manager of Wales Chris Coleman has concluded arrangements to invite Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross to the Wales national team in preparations for the 2014 world cup qualifiers. But before then he would first consult Wales captain Aaron Ramsey before extending the invitation to shawcross.

(2) South Sudan’s first officially recognized games since the country was admitted into the world governing body FIFA ended in a draw.

Known as the Bright star, the team drew 2 – 2 with 10 –man Uganda, who are East and central African regional champions.

(4) With the proposed Arsenal visit to Nigeria cancelled, the fate of the national stadium pitch which has slipped into disrepair, may not receive the desired attention it was perceived to receive for it to be ready for the friendly scheduled for the Abuja stadium between Super Eagles and Arsenal, courtesy of the Nigerian factor.

Even as repair work had started before the Arsenal visit was cancelled, there is a fresh doubt that the work may not go as fast as it would have gotten if Arsenal were still to visit Nigeria.
