Blind Students In Imo Cry Out For Rescue Over Damaged Hostel

The visually impaired students in Imo State have cried out to the Imo state government to come to their aid at their camp located at Mbaise secondary school, Aboh Mbaise LGA.
According to one of the blind students, Mr Eze Ekene from Mgbidi in Oru LGA, the roof of their hotel at the Mbaise Secondary School was damaged on the 11th of March, 2013 by a wind storm and since then, they have been squatting under shades and in an unbearable condition.
He said that the wife of the governor had visited the premises few days before the wind storm but noted that since the devastation, they have cried to the Imo state government to come to their rescue and put a roof on their hostel.
According to another inmate of the damaged hostel, Mr Iheanacho Nkemakolam from Ikeduru, the visually impaired were accommodated at Bishop Shanahan college Orlu before the school was handed over to the missionary a development that led to their transfer by the Imo State commissioner of Education, to Mbaise Secondary School where they were allocated a hostel.
Since 2011, the inmates have complained of neglect by the state government. They complained of lack of water, poor health facility and of late, the neglect of their damaged hostel. Speaking to journalist, Comrade Ezenwa Nwawudu who champions the course of the disable, called on the wife of the governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha to extend her
