Mbaise Youths Call On Lawmaker to Intervene On Girls Secondary School Ogbor Nguru Crisis

Youth groups in Mbaise under the leadership of Comrade Belusochukwu, has called on the Hon member representing Aboh Mbaise State Constituency, Hon Barr Ngozi Pat Ekeji to intervene in the crisis that have kept Girls Secondary School Ogbor Nguru under locks and keys for almost two years. The youths said they will soon lead a protest to the Imo House of Assembly to draw the attention of the legislature on the killing of Education at Ogbor Girls Secondary School.
The Mbaise Youth Development Association noted that students of the school who are scattered in other schools in the area since they were chased away by some misinformed youth from Ogbor Nguru, have complained of the difficulty they have been facing trekking far places to attend school. They noted that the risk to the lives of the students and other attended difficulties to parents cannot be our emphasized. The female students decried sexual harassment, they are confronted with going or coming back from school and distortion of their academic plans.
The youth group added that the computers, and other science equipment installed in the school by government and organizations have been vandalized by the miscreants who locked the school gate protesting the handing over of the school to their original owners, the Catholic Church by the past administration. The few misinformed people are claiming that the school should be managed by government as part of the school land belongs to the community. The barbaric act of Ogbor people have caused untold hardship to students and parents and has also affected the economic life of the area.
The youths have also called on HRH Eze Njoku of Nguru Nwenkwo and the Ezuruezu Mbaise to look into the lingering crisis for resolution to enable normal classes to resume in the school.
