The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), has warned Governor Rochas Okorocha to stop meddling into the affairs of the party.
The Chairman of the Caretaker committee of APGA in Imo state Chief Chidi Onuzo stated this at the weekend, during the maiden meeting of the party at the constituency office of Senator Chris Anyanwu in Owerri.
He noted that Governor Okorocha has done so much harm to the party, as he has consistently described APGA as a regional political party.
Onuzo further stated that since the Governor has declared APGA as a stranger in Nigeria politics, he should stop inviting the members of the party to APC functions. “He should stop calling APGA members to meeting, since he has left the party, he should leave us alone. Okorocha has done everything to destroy the party”.
He advised the governor to be civil in his dealings, as the people of Imo state are watching what he is doing to the party, stressing that the party will regain the state in 2015. “We wish to tell the people of Imo state that APGA will regain Government House in 2015”.
He expressed confidence that the party would take Igbos to greater heights, and advised those who left the party to return as there is relative peace in the party, while noting that the caretaker committee of APGA would certainly do a good job to bring victory to it in 2015.
“APGA will definitely takeover power by 2015” he declared.
In his contribution, a chieftain of APGA in the state, Chief John Iwuala expressed dismay over the attitude of Governor Rochas Okorocha to the party, adding that the day of reckoning is fast coming.
Those who attended the meeting include Chief Chidi Onuzo, Hon John Iwuala, Mr Godson Kekeocha, Chief Tony Mgbeahurike and other Chieftains of the party in Imo state.
