Honourable is synonymous with heroic, positive and applaudable deeds. This explains why members of the legislative Chambers and some other categories of public office holders are addressed as Honourable because it is believed or assumed that in the line of their duties, they make laws that seek for the betterment of the society and sustainance of life even that of the unborn. It is expected that an Honourable will consider the implication of an issue before getting involved. It is also expected that an Honourable will be principled, consistent, sincere, focused, meticulous, patriotic, a person of integrity who has ideology and does not move from party to party for just the booty of office. An Honourable member is supposed to be always associated with progressive programmes and do not always found himself or herself on the negative side of an event, policy, programe or decision that could adversely harm individuals or the society.
It is in the light of the above that a critical mind will position binoculars on the Majority Leader of the Imo House of Assembly and the many controversies that have had the blessing and backing of the member representing Ahiazu Mbaise in the Imo House of Assembly, Hon Adaku Ihuoma.
Imo was shocked when the Ada Mbaise who was elected into the House under the PDP ticket dumped the party that brought her to limelight to cross carpet to APGA just to capture the Majority Leader position. Not done, she is still denying moving over to APGA while APGA leadership in Ahiazu have continued to insist that she is an APGA member, what a controversy? Yet Madam is an Honourable member. To those who knew her well and felt that she was not the right candidate abinitio, have been saying, Ahiazu Ntoo! The case of cross carpeting against Hon Adaku Ihuoma and co is still in court what an Honourable.
It was not long again to find her office and person enmeshed in another controversy. The ill fated motion for the impeachment of the former Deputy Governor, Sir Jude Agbaso. Today, every member of the public with good conscience have judged the impeachment, reasons and process as dishonourable. That dishonourable and unpopular action was spear headed by the Majority Leader and yet Madam Adaku Ihuoma is an Honourable member.
Mention should no more be made of the brouhaha about the donation of a bungalow to a non widow in the Majority Leader’s domain through the wife of Imo Governor’s SNARP project designed for widows and indigent women. In the controversy that followed, the media war, denials and defence on the perceived deceit of the Governor’s wife by Hon Adaku Ihuoma by some section of the media, people wonder why of all places such incident could only happen in her immediate community? Haba Madam! Why?
As if the controversies are not too many and as if she is not tired of dishonourable publicity. Madam embarked on another suicide mission. This time call it attempted murder, call it deceit, call it wickedness, call it anti children, call it evil or call it abortion, Hon Adaku Ihuoma has again jumped into another dirty water which is set to tear Imo apart. In Christiandom and in the Catholic Church where she is a member, the Arch-Bishop is short of words to explain how a woman that call herself a mother should be the champion of the abortion law, which gives women right to kill unborn babies and the right to refuse to get pregnant for their husbands. Again, she has put Imo Government in bad light forcing Governor Rochas and his wife to be running helter scelter defending and explaining the source of the wicked abortion law, which the governor is trying to say emanated from Hon Adaku Ihuoma yet she is an honourable member.
Where will anybody start to judge the member representing Ahiazu State Constituency? Can anybody point to any positive bill she has sponsored in the House? Can anybody point to negative, controversial and anti people bills she has sponsored at the House? If there are say 1, the is have it.
Ahiazu Mbaise has never had it so bad since the history of representation in Imo House of Assembly. Those who supported and sponsored her against other rightful candidates are now licking their wounds. The Governor and the wife have suffered from negative publicity some how linked to Hon Adaku Ihuoma, yet she is an Honourable member. Haba! Ozokwa! Hon Adaku Ihuoma: Ahiazu people Ntoo! Onye kpatara nku ahuhu si ngwere bia Obia.
