The need for sustenance of inter-community roads maintenance (Mbomuzo) has been stressed.
Ahiazu Mbaise LGA TC Chairman, Dr. Kachi Nwoga underscored the essence in a meeting he held with traditional rulers in the area at the council hall, Afor Oru, recently.
He decried increasing environmental, moral and cultural decadence and called for re-orientation to reverse the ugly trend.
On re-certification of communities, Dr. Nwoga enjoined them to comply with the directives on community review to foster smooth realization of the community governing council, emphasizing on peaceful conduct in the town unions Presidents-General, Community Speakers, Women and Youth Leaders election coming up soon.
Dr. Nwoga who also at the forum introduced his caretaker committee members/Supervisors – Hon. Titus Anyanwu (Agriculture and Environmental Sanitation) Mr. Chijioke Nze (Lands, Planning, Urban Development, Youths and Sports) Engr. Chinedu Otuechere (Education, Health and Security) and Chief Johnny Ohaeri (Community Affairs) appealed to the ezes to lend their support to the administration for rapid development of the area.
He stated that besides the on-going 15 km road asphalting in the area, the site in front of the LG Council has also been cleared for a new model General Hospital, Shopping Mall and Motor Park and prayed other communities to donate lands for more development projects.
Responding, the LGA Chairman of Ndieze, Eze Godwin Obasi assured untainted co-operation of the traditional rulers and urged them to insure peace and security in their respective domain.
Earlier in their separate speeches, the traditioal rulers of Ekwerazu Town – Eze Innocent Iwu, Umuihuocha Obohia – Eze Beblessed Alilonu, Elekennwasi Obohia – Eze Nicholas Nwahiri, Lude – Eze Jude Anyamele, Ogwuama – Eze Sabby Nwaneche, and Isiala Oparanadim – Eze Engr. Isdore Atughara lamented marginalization of their communities in the road project, appointments and other democratic largesse and implored for redress.
