The Member representing Ezinihitte Mbaise state Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Obioma Ekennia, has advised the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) to be courageous and remain steadfast in their profession, in order to set a pace for others to emulate and follow.
He however advised them to be involved in active politics and be enterprising and function effectively in their practice to sustain human life.
Ekennia who was represented at the event by his Personal Assistant, Hon Onyema Januarius, at the 18th annual national convention of FECAMAS held in Owerri, and organized by Imo State medical students recently, charged the medical students not to let their medical training on saving lives go untapped.
Also, addressing the FECAMDS, the Special Assistant to Governor Okorocha on Students Affairs, Jerry Okosun, urged them to work hard in their chosen profession. He described the governor as a lover of education.
Onyedueze Chukwu Emmanuel and Comrade Rotractor Emeka Mandela (IMSU SUG leader), who are among the organizers of the convention and medical students in 500 level said FECAMDS is an annual national convention of Catholic Medical Students in Nigeria and Ghana where they meet to familiarize academically, socially and religiously.
They pointed out that the association also welcomes Muslim and other Christian denomination medical, nursing, medlab, arts and social students. They advised their fellow students not to relent in their call to medical practice to save lives and bring peace and comfort to the society.
Rev Fr Njoku of IMSU Chaplaincy and other Medical Alumni graced the colorful and thrilling convention.
