The Ad-hoc Committee set to Conduct the Ezeship Election of Amaohuru Nguru Autonomous Community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area has expressed its willingness to conduct a free and fair election for the Ezeship stool of the community on 24/8/2013.
The Chairman of the committee, Dr Evans Osagimo while presenting the Ezeship Aspirants to the people of Amaohuru at their town hall said that the committee will conduct the election in line with the constitution of the community.
Dr Osagimo noted that the committee has put in place all the necessary logistics that will help them conduct a credible election, and revealed that the three Aspirants including Nze Mike Odu, Chief Philip Eke and Duru Azubuike Ugo has passed the screening exercise.
Also speaking the secretary of the committee, Mr Ozichukwu Chukwu urged the aspirants and their supporters to conduct themselves properly during the election to enable the committee achieve its aim for the peace and development of the community.
Mr Chukwu also advised members of the community to come out in mass to elect whoever they want to be their traditional ruler and stressed the need for them to disregard the activities of same disgruntled elements who never mean well for the community.
In their separate speeches Nze Mike Odu and Duru Azubuike Ugo promised to maintain peace progress, security and revive the cultural heritage of the people of Amaohuru.
