All signals indicate that Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri has thrown his hat into the ring for the Imo North (Okigwe) Senatorial battle in 2015 general election.
Sources close to the Scholar cum Politician, said the Agunaechemba of Okigwe, has began wide consultations to pull together friends and political associates in a bid to building a structural political machine that will see his ambition come to fruition.
Trumpeta learnt that Prof Obiaraeri, who worked as a former Commissioner for Sports and Youths Development in Imo State believes that Okigwe Senatorial Zone needs a youthful pragmatic fellow who can stand toe-toe at the Red chamber to present the demands of Imo North Senatorial Zone to Nigerians at the National Assembly.
It was said that Obiaraeri, a legal luminary and lecturer, has all it takes to rub shoulders with others at the senate, since his profession has already equipped him to make laws and post qualitative representation to the people of Okigwe at the senate.
Trumpeta was told that the youthful Professor of law had already changed the atmosphere in the zone, since he made his ambition open mainly for the fact that the area he comes from had remained the marginalized party of Okigwe Senatorial Zone.
“Prof Obaraeri stands on a good stead to clinch the ticket, and win the election proper because of his popularity among the youths, elders and leaders. And again, he comes from Okigwe/Onuimo axis which has not produced a Senator yet since the democratic dispension of Nigeria” a confident source told this Newspaper.
The source therefore said that for equity, justice and fairness, the likes of Obiaraeri, should be given the opportunity to utilize their expertise to serve the people now they are young, and ready to deliver the goods to the masses and Nigeria.
