Decries Deportation of Igbos by Lagos State Govt
Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Imo State Chapter has harped on the need for good governance in the country.
The group also reiterated it’s desire to align with Igbos especially over political and social challenges, condemning in strong terms the socio-economic and political plight of Igbos.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after paying a courtesy call after visiting Chief Emmanuel Iwuayanwu in Owerri, leader of Ohanaeze in Imo state, Hon Dr Emeka Ukaegbu, spoke on burning issues in the country as it affects the Igbo nation.
He condemned the recent deportation of Igbos to Onitsha from Lagos state by the Lagos state government and the activities of Boko Haram which has carried out several attacks targeted at Igbos in the North.
Ukaegbu also decried non completion of projects embarked upon by the past administration in Imo state and disregard for the traditional institution in the state. He described such acts as evidence of bad governance.
He said the group decided to visit Engr Iwuanyanwu to honour him as member of Ime Obi, the apex decision making body of Ohanaeze and for being the first Chairman on strategy and planning committee of Ohanaeze.
