FUTO Holds Intellectual Products Exhibition

Federal University of Technology, Owerri, FUTO, had on Tuesday 2nd June, 2013, at the convocation Arena of the University, held its 3rd Intellectual products exhibition known as FUTO LITE SERIES of EXHIBITION 2013 an Intellectual Harvest of ideas, inventions, innovations, fabrications and projects from the various schools and departments organized under the aegis of the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office, IPTTO, of the University.
Presenting a welcome address on the event, Professor Chukwuma B.C Ohanuzue, Director IPTTO/Chairman organizing committee, said the schools which featured in the Exhibition are: Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science, Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, Management and Management Technology and the school of Health Technology. Hence the equipments showcased at the workshop are: Multi-functional cereal processing machine, paint making, Foam making machine, water Treatment plant, Briquette machine, Horizontal palm Fruit Digest, Hammer Mill, Palm-wine making and others.
Professor Ohanuzue maintained that FUTO LITE SERIES of Exhibition “will form the bulk of the university’s submission at the National University Commission, NUC, Universities Fair holding later in the year. He argued that the practical exhibitions of intellectual knowledge will go a long way in providing basis for sustainable business and competitiveness.
The workshop was declared open by the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the University Dr E.M.I Enemuo, who said skills and money are necessary for human development.
In his speech, the Vice chancellor of FUTO, Professor Chigozie C Asiabaka, commended the efforts of the organizing committee for the event and also congratulated the researchers and demonstrators of the various intellectual products. He encouraged industrialists, investors and indeed all stakeholders to take advantage of the Intellectual Products Exhibition to identify products of interest for development and commercialization.
