The Federal High Court sitting in Owerri has taken it upon itself to summon the registrar of FUTO, Ministry of Justice and others through a hearing notice to appear before it on the 29th of Oct 2013 for hearing on the suit filed by Nze Ebubeagu Ekenulo alleging certificate forgery against Senator Hope Uzodimma
When the matter came up for hearing on the 2nd of July, it was only the plaintiff’s counsel that was present. The Counsel Barr Alex William N.N informed the court that he was surprise on the absence of the defendants and their counsel, stating that the originating summon of the suit has been served on all the defendants. Barr Williams went further to inform the court that he has also written the defendants reminding then of the tendency of the suit as he relied on the order 19 of the High Court procedure, and prayed the court to go on with the case.
However, the presiding Judge Hon Justice O.O Oguntoyimbo, averred that the court will issue all the defendants hearing notice before any other step or order could be made, as she adjourned the case to the 29th on October 2013.
Speaking to newsmen, after the proceeding
The plaintiff, Nze Ekenulo, maintained that the Senator has no authentic primary and secondary school certificates let alone that of university as he claimed. He challenged the registrar of Federal University of Technology Owerri to come and prove him (Nze Ekenulo) wrong.
