Owerri Peoples Front has recorded another landmark achievement, in a bid to create grassroots’ awareness through information and projection of an Owerri zone candidate to occupy the Douglas House come 2015, the OPF last weekend inaugurated her Ikeduru Local Government Executives at the residential hall of Hon. Chief Ahamefula Innocent Asitokwam, in Umuafu Atta Ward II, Ikeduru LGA.
Inaugurating the LGA executive’s members of OPF, the state co-ordinator Hon. Ebere Chukwuemeka in his speech went down memory lane to discuses and analyze the three political zone and their fair share at the Douglas House and major political offices been held by them.
He however added that from the inception of democracy in Nigeria, Owerri zone is yet to governing Imo state, he encouraged the newly selected executives to be loyal disciplined and focused in other to actualize the aim of the OPF in seeing that Owerri zone candidate(s) do not only become the next governor of Imo state, but obtain relevant positions in Imo state owned institution.
An elder statesman and a leader in Ikeduru, Chief Morris Ozuzu, stated that Owerri zone women and youth are asking questions and are restless with the marginalization of Owerri zone in governing the state since inception. He however assured Owerri zone that Ikeduru LGA will support only an Owerri zone candidate for the next guber race in 2015.
Meanwhile, the state woman leader of OPF, Mrs. Ihuoma Njoku enumerated the benefits that will be gained if Owerri zone candidate have their fair share of governing Imo state and opt for grassroot awareness as she promised to withdraw support for other zones in the forth coming guber elections in 2015.
