The Ezeship tussle in Imo State, which has been described as a ticking time-bomb to explode in most communities in the State, has reared its ugly head again in Nekede Ancient Kingdom in Owerri West LGA.
The bone of contention in that community is that Eze-Elect, Stephen Agumanu is parading a fake WAEC certificate.
This startling revelation is contained in a petition made available to Trumpeta and authored by one Pastor Onyekachi Maduagwu, a native of Umumbazu/Umuohiadagu in Nekede Autonomous Community.
According to him, he claimed that Stephen Agumanu has been parading a forged school certificate No. SC13711, Centre No 11405652 which he allegedly presented on oath to the judicial panel of inquiry into (Ezeship) Autonomous Communities in Imo state and sworn same in the High Court-Registry, Owerri on the 18th day of February, 2013 and submitted to the commission.
The statement by Pastor Maduagwu reads “Agumanu Stephen’s real result in the June 1977 at the Government College (Government Secondary School), Owerri is only reflected and reflective on the certified computer sheet from Government School, Owerri. By that result, he is not issuable of any result whatsoever from the West African Examination Council for the same year, June 1977”
The petitioner backed his claims with an affidavit on the false/forged certificate, a certified copy of the computer print out from Government College (Government Secondary School, Owerri), and a photocopy of the forged certificate sworn on oath and upon which he (Stephen Agumanu) is relying on his qualification for the Ezeship stool of Nekede.
In his response to these allegations, the Eze-Elect, Stephen Agumanu told Trumpeta that the allegations said it are false, untrue and unfounded, stating it is mere falsehood peddled against him simply because he defeated others to the throne.
“I am Agumanu the fourth of Nekede” he declared.
