OCDA Set To Demolish Ama Hausa Quarters In Owerri

As part of it’s determination and resolve to ensure Owerri city master plan is fully restored, the Owerri capital Development Authority (OCDA) yesterday moved it’s bulldozers to Ama Hausa, along Douglas road, Owerri, for demolition.
While the engines of the caterpillars and bulldozer were steaming and rearing for action, the Sariki Hausawa, HRH Alhaji Saidu Suleiman pleaded for more time from OCDA.
He said the Hausa Community are not opposed to the demolition of Ama Hausa, but appealed that the demolition should begin from the other end of Edede by Royce road.
Alhaji Saidu explained that Hausa Community will provide maximum co-operation to the government of the day.
His appeal compelled the OCDA GM, Iheanyi Abakwueme to have a rethink by issuing a 7-days notice for the evacuation of the Hausa Community residents, stating that the state government will leave no stone unturned to ensure the master plan of Owerri is adhered to.
