Contrary to media reports, the member representing Ahiazu Mbaise in the Imo State House of Assembly and Majority Leader, Hon (Mrs) Adaku Ihuoma has denied involvement in the presentation of a suspected fake widow who benefited from the pet project at her Otulu, Ahiazu Mbaise country home.

In a statement made available to Trumpeta from her camp, titled; The True Position; Hon Ihuoma stated that “as a matter of fact, the SNARP project is a brain child of the Governor’s wife and has a committee that selects and monitors who benefits from the project. Government officers and politicians are not involved in the selection and execution of the project. Not even Chief P.C. Onuoha and Dr Charles Onuoha who were also mentioned as behind the deceit was involved in the project”.

Continuing, the Majority Leader added “the project is handled by the Governor’s wife and a committee she set up and none of them is from Ahiazu. Mrs Josephine Udoji, Mrs Ben Obi and Mrs Ekwem who are the committee members can testify that no legislator in Imo State is involved in the election, monitoring and execution of the SNARP project. This is the true position. That the project is sited at Otulu where the Majority Leader comes from does not mean she is responsible for selecting a woman who is not a widow”
The Majority Leader’s statement further stated “Protocol demands that since Adaku Ihuoma is from Otulu Ahiazu where the project was sited, she must attend the handover ceremony by the Governor’s wife. Mrs Dike who is the beneficiary is the one who deceived members of the committee and the Governor’s wife by claiming that she is a widow.
“The three-woman committee never asked the Majority Leader. The Governor’s wife did not ask the Majority Leader and infact, the Governor’s wife does not involve politician serving under the present government. The so-called Mrs Dike is not even in any way related to the Majority Leader apart from the fact that she is from Otulu Community where the Majority Leader comes from”.
