The Special Assistant to the Imo State Governor, on Niger-Delta Affairs, Hon Eric Nwanom over the weekend added another feather to his resume as he was conferred with a prestigious and leadership title of Duke of the Niger Delta by the people and youths of Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency.
It was submitted by the youths that the title is in recognition and support of Hon Nwanom and all his selfless services to the youths of the Niger Delta, whose product is the unprecedented peace in the Niger Delta areas of Imo State and all the empowerment programmes which has also affected and changed the orientation and lives of the Niger Delta Youths.
Some of those achievements include the disarmament and surrendering of 153 fire arms and ammunition from Ex-militants of Imo State extraction, the recommendation for employment to 91 youths of the area who now work with multinational oil companies, re-opening of shut down oil wells of some oil companies among other commendable feats.
In his citation read at the event, Hon Nwanom graduated with second class upper in Economics, a master degree in Public Administration, and a Post-graduate Diploma in Journalism. His public service experience started back in 1996 after his NCE.
The citation also revealed that Hon Nwanom’s experience on issues concerning the Niger Delta of Imo State before his appointment as the SA on Niger Delta Affairs by Gov. Rochas Okorocha, is never a flash in a pan as he has worked on matter of the area after his youth service in 2006, when he worked as a personal secretary to the Pioneer Executive Chairman of the Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC), HRH Eze SNA Uzor of the blessed memories.
Hon Eric Nwanom, selfless services, competence and experiences in public administration/assignments has made him leader, member and fellow of many professional, youth, religion, cultural and social organizations too numerous to mention.
The occasion was well attended by who is who in the federal constituency including Ndi Ezes. Among whom are Eze (Dr) I.O Aso who performed the confirmation on behalf of the good people and youth of the federal constituency.
