GOVERNMENT TO ESTABLISH OLYMPIC STANDARD STADIUM

An Olympic standard stadium is to be established alongPortharcourt Road, Owerri by the state government.
The Commissioner for Youths and Sports Hon Kenneth Emelu who disclosed this while commenting on the one year in office of Hon Kelvin Amuka representing Ideato South in the state legislature, noted that the stadium would be used to play international matches.
Hon Emelu maintained that one of the achievements of the present Rescue Mission in Sports is seen in the renovation of Dan Anyiam Stadium adding that the government of Rochas Okorocha is doing everything possible to ensure that sports is giving a face lift in Imo state.
The Commissioner pointed out that the 4th tier initiative is a vision which the whole world should emulate and called on the people of the state especially Civil Servants to embrace it.
Similarly, the TC chairman of Ideato South Local Government Area, Chief Maxwell Nwokeji commended Chief Amuka for his good representation of the constituency in the House of Assembly.
Chief Nwokeji who made the commendation while presenting three motorcycles donated to the people of the area by Chief Amuka remarked that a leader is born and is claimed when one is performing.
While calling on the people to give the legislator necessary support, the TC Chairman appealed to members of APGA to encourage all the leaders who joined the party.
Adding his voice, the chairman of Jodvin Enterprises, Engr. Jonathan Duru advised citizens of Imo state to be patient revealing that in the next two years, Imo will be a heaven.
