Determined to ensure the realization of the 2015 Owerri Zone Project, Owerri Zone Political Leadership Forum (OZOPOLF) has encroached Owerri Zone Performing Musicians Association (OSMA) for support.
Arising from a breakfast meeting Monday May 27, 2013 at the palatial residence of OZOPOLF Leader in Owerri, Prince Charls Amadi, OZOPOLF re-emphasized the need for all sons and daughters of Owerri Zone extraction to cue in the project for the realization of an Imo Governor from the zone in 2015.
Prince Amadi told the group that notwithstanding political ideologies that the focus of his association is to ensure a Governor from Owerri Zone in 2015. According to him, “The problem is not whether the present Governor is performing or not, rather we are saying that Owerri Zone has suffered grave injustice since the creation of the State”.
According to him, “there is nothing to prove that a Governor from Owerri Zone extraction will not even do better than both the present and past Governors in the state”. Insisting that what is good for the goose is also good for the gander.
He said that though the struggle is a morally justified struggle, that Owerri Zone will continue to appeal to the consciences of Orlu and Okigwe people to see reason why they should soft pedal in 2015 Governorship contest in the state.
The forum was used by OZOPOLF to announce a musical competition for the best first, second and third best performing musicians holding in December this year with star price of N500,000, N300,000, N200,000 and other consolation prices.
Responding, OSMA criticized the situation where Government prefers hiring musicians and artists outside the state for state functions. They however, expressed happiness to partner with OZOPOLF in the project.
