Is Eze Ohiri Okorocha’s Security Aide?
Wonders” they “they say shall never end” Popular side wishes to disclose to those who think that the resuscitation of the alleged lost Igbo custom, culture and tradition is close to have a rethink.
This is because those who are supposed to resuscitate and revive it, do not respect or regard it again.
Popularside watched with disbelief and disappointment, how the No1 Eze in the state Eze Ohiri, who is supposed to respect his position as the custodian of Imo tradition & culture descended low to join the security men of Governor Rochas Okorocha to run around while the Governor was driven round the Heros square, to greet the workers during this year’s Workers Day.
Popularside wishes to remind Eze Ohiri that he is an Igbo Eze not a security detail.
Imo Gets EFCC boss
mo State has for years now suffered the institutionalization of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission office. But alas, the State Accountant General Sir. George Etche has now been appointed as one by popular demand.
Sir. Etche earned this appointment with his record as the highest public servant who visited the commission in the recent time. He has been at EFCC a record three times.
By this appointment, it is expected that the state and government ministries and parastatals should also be prepared to visit the office of the EFCC boss whenever they are invited to regularize or answer one question or the other that borders on financial irregularities in their offices.
Congratulations EFCC helmsman.
Big Doo, Peter Orji & Poverty Of The Mind
ometimes it is difficult to believe certain things and still they are real and embarrassing. Penultimate Saturday May 4, 2013, Hon. Peter Orji one time Commissioner for Works in Imo State, former treasurer of PDP Imo State and now a leader in Action Congress of Nigeria ACN manifested his penchant and pettiness when he cornered money served to top politicians in the state as kolanut money.
Hon. Peter Orji who immediately after seeing the money remembered that he is a PDP man, publicly said, “you all know that I am the state treasurer of PDP. And once a treasurer, always a treasurer”.
Without knowing that it was his ploy to hijack the kolanut money, nobody challenged him and his selfish argument.
But his gimmick manifested when he started sharing the money which by tradition and custom is meant for all those presented with the kolanut.
He now craftly decided to exclude majority of the people on grounds that the money “is party money”.
This happened in the presence of Chief Osita Nwaneri (PDP), Emma Ojinere (PDP) Young- Martins (PDP) Barr. C.C. Azara (PDP) Chief Damian Ezeagu (PDP) Chief Nwachukwu (PDP), Madam social (PDP) among many others.
The question now, is it that Chief Orji manifested greed and poverty or is he actually defending a political party. And since he is in ACN with Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, what party was he speaking for? Haba! What a little mind brother.
PDP and Macabre Dance
or the past few months now serene Imo environment is becoming charged once again with convoys and sirens at every corner of the state. And for careful observes, it appears to signal a new political order as we draw close and closer to 2014 which is the peek of electioneering.
Go to such functions like burials, weddings, traditional weddings and even naming ceremonies in the hinter lands you see the politicians with their supporters making overtures. And as at last count, PDP aspirants are more culprits in this game. Perhaps because of their current position as an opposition party in the state and its desperate efforts to bounce back to power.
But, whether the aspirants attend all the ceremonies in the state both those with names and those without names is immaterial. The question that is still being asked by political pundits is, has PDP learnt its lessons?
Anwuka’s “Mystic Stick” Disappears
One man who you cannot fail to admire in his good moments is professor Anthony Anwuka, the Secretary of the Government of Imo State. Though temperamental, professor Anwuka is a disciplinarian to the core and do not pretend over it.
Since assumption of office as the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, professor Anwuka has a walking stick which people suddenly christened “mystic stick”.
Professor Anwuka’s Mystic Stick serves a dual purpose for the ageing Anwuka. First and foremost it supports his movement and secondly serves as a weapon to wade-off attackers.
But suddenly, professor Anwuka has dropped the stick which made people to start asking whether the SGI is getting younger and stronger or whether he has finally conquered his attacker?.
