POPULAR SIDE wants to know why Umuguma people have decided to drag the controversial Area K land with Amawom Owerri – Nchise people. It is no longer news that for several years, Amawom people have been laying claim to the Area K land to the extent that they went to court with the administration of Udenwa to stop state government acquiring the land. Even Ohakim was scared by the court case before Okorocha moved in. Again the Amawom Nchise came in to resist government. Having kept Owelle Rochas at bay, Umuguma people resurrected to lay claim. Umuguma people are trying to play the role of a fifth columnist among the Owerri clans in this matter and that would be too bad. Where were they all this while the matter raged in court with various government? POPULAR SIDE was told that the hand of Esau is working. As a way of subduing Amawom community, government forces are applying subterranean means to acquire the land and part of it is to induce the willing Umuguma people to also lay claim. What surprised POPULAR SIDE was when Umuguma youths who came to the Area K Land told the Amawom people to leave the land as they have already given it to the state government.
