It is startling to learn that Nigeria produced Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote who has overtaken the Morrocan Mo Ibrahim. Guess what, Dangote is planning to build a refiner at the cost of USD $ 9 billion and it should be sited in the north supposedly, that is by the way. Yours sincerely crave the indulgence of the readers and regular fans of this column to ponder over the following; “It is better to die in the struggle for liberty than to live in slavery”. The government of Nigeria from its colonial foundation was designed to indeed to set some constituents at liberty; whereas others are strangled under servitude. I stand to be corrected. Reference to the words of one of the most influential Nigerians of the Northern extraction, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who is presently saddled as the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor;
“They have been defeated in war, rendered paupers by monetary policy flat, their properties declared abandoned and confiscated, kept out of strategic public sector appointments and deprived of public services. The rest of the country forced them to remain In Nigeria and has continued to deny them equity”.
The Northern Bourgeoisie and the Yoruba Bourgeosie have considered to keep the Igbos out of the scheme of things. In the recent transition when the Igbos solidly supported the PDP in the hope of an Ekwueme Presidency, the North and South-West treated this as a Biafra agenda. Every rule set for the primaries, every gentleman’s agreement was set aside to ensure that Obasanjo, not Ekwueme emerged as the candidate…..Now, with this government, the marginalizatlon of the Igbos is more complete than ever before. The Igbos have taken all these quietly because they reason, they brought it upon themselves. But the nation is sitting on a time bomb.” perhaps it was the pursuit of these wicked agenda that closed down Savana Bank, African Continental Bank (ACB), Progress Bank and Hallmark Bank even before the banking sector reforms kick-started.
Once again, conscience is an open would which can only be healed by truth. And when the truth is swept under the carpet, destinies are trampled under-feet. In reference to a true confession as rendered by an erstwhile British Colonial overlord, Harold smith; ‘I am in my 80s now, I have agreed but in the past they did not want me toy anything. But now, I don’t want to go to my grave without telling the truth about the atrocities perpetrated in Africa by the colonialists. Our agenda was to completely exploit Africa. Nigeria was my duty post. When we assess Naira, this was what we found In the southern region; strength, intelligence, determination to succeed, well established history, complex but focused lifestyle, great hope and aspiration; the East is good in business and technology, the West is good in administration and commerce, law and medicine, but it was a pity we planned our agenda to give power at all cost to the northerners. They seemed to be submissive and silly of a kind. Our mission was accomplished by destroying the opposition at all fronts. The West led in the fight for the independence, and was punished for asking for freedom. They will not rule Nigeria! The census result was announced before they were counted. Despite seeing vast land with no human but cattle in the North, we still give the North 55 million instead of 32 million. This was to be used to maintain their majority votes and future power bid. The North was seriously encouraged to go into the military because we believed that the south would attain western education but future leaders would always come from the military background. Their traditional rulers were to be made Influential and superhuman. The northerners were given accelerated promotions both in the military and civil service to justify their superiority over their south.
Everything was to work against the south. We truncated their good plan for their future. I was very sorry for the AG (Action Group). It was a great party two much for the Africa standard. We planned to destroy Awolowo and Azikiwe, the west and the east, and sowed a seed of discord among them. We tricked Azikiwe into accepting to be president giving known that Balewa would be the main man with power. Awolowo has to go to jail to cripple his genius plan for a greater Nigeria. The British really let Nigeria down. When I see Nigerians being accused of fraud and from what I saw on the streets of Lagos, the British were worst fraudsters.
If the northern leaders have any agenda in Nigeria at all, sadly ft is for the North and nothing for Nigeria. The British look after the British people and this occupied our minds. It was my duty to carryout all of these and I was loyal to my country. Nigerians should try to be loyal to their country, leaders and followers alike. Love your country. You have got the potentials to be great again and the whole world knows this. I am sorry for the evil done to Nigeria. I can’t say sorry enough”. From the lengthy excerpt in the foregoing credited to old man Harold Smith who was a powerful tool of evil manipulation in the Nigeria nation state by the British colonial government in pre-independent era; the following deductions could be readily made: British colonial government was culpable for the woes of this contraption called country; the foundation of Nigeria was fraudulently laid by the colonial masters to achieve the selfish goals of their country (Britain) on loyalty basis; the structural imbalance was a grand design to perpetrate the domination of the North in every spheres of life in the government system; that our trusted nationalist like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo were tricked and humiliated respectively to pave way for northern domination in Nigeria; most importantly that the Northern agenda be it as it may is meant only for the good of the North. The major consequences of these evil machinations was that the North has been dormant in the leadership of Nigeria. Secondly, Nigeria true to the desire and aspiration of her designers remain a parody of a country up till date. By so being, it has not and would never (don’t accused me of pessimism) attract a deserving loyalty from her people other than what obtains at the moment occasioned fundamentally by the seed of discord sown by the architects from her foundation.
In fact, even Lord Lugard himself who masterminded the conjugation of these incompatibles in what manifested as the 1914 amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorates knew it was perfidious so to do. Of course, it is instructive that the amalgamation was not well thought out neither properly documented rather it was carelessly done under the overwhelming influence of romance and wine while relaxing with his (Lord Lugard’s) girl friend Flora Shaw who visited from Britain that time.
Also part of the major break through of the British government in manipulating everything to favour the domination of the North in every scheme of things in the Nigerian system is the not- developable status achieved today. The essence of routine maintenance cannot hold in Nigeria because any house that is founded on a faulty foundation defies routine repairs and maintenance techniques of any kind. The foundation of Nigeria was laid with fraud, falsehood, lies and deception. Therefore, no amendment of constitution can cure Nigeria’s sickness. This country has a major structural defect which requires restructuring in lieu of re-branding. The northern population was atrociously and selfishly inflated from the real figure of about 32 million to 52 million in a spurious population census that laid for this country a fraudulent foundation. This has formed the basis of the northern majority votes in the National Assembly then and up till now; the number of states created for the north by the military usually dominated by the northerners since 1970 to 2013, the number of local government areas for the North and all other quotas given to the north in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is in the best interest of the North that most policies of government are drawn, ranging from the obnoxious land use Act of 1976 to the imposition of Islamic non-interest banking (JAIZ Islamic Bank now afloat in Abuja), a pet project of the CBN governor. Interestingly, the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) is receiving hard knocks in the National Assembly, because the North claimed that it is targeted at impoverishing them. In a count down, the north has been ruling this country since 1967 except when Obasanjo ruled firstly ushered in by military interregnum and secondly as civilian still by military manipulation in addition to the present dispensation of President Goodluck Jonathan under near- ungovernable situation and condition. The rape of the virgin Africa was first committed by the colonialists. In the British colonies, it was brazenly masterminded. They (British) violated Nigeria by enthroning mediocrity (Abubakar Tafawa Balewa with school certificate) over and above meritocracy (Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo graduates of Chemistry and law respectively).
At the moment, the gambit of the British resonates yet in that, the Vice President Arch. Namadi Sambo is from the North, the Senate President, Senator David Mark is from the North, so also are the speaker of the house of Representative, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, the P.D.P Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, the Head of Service of the Federation Aihaji Buka Goni, the INEC Chairman, Prof. Atahiw Jega, the Inspector General of police Mohamed Abubakar, the CBN governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Alooma Muktar; President of Appeal Court Justice Zainab Bukachuwa, the National Security Adviser, Col. (Rtd) Mohammed Sambo Dasuki, the comptroller General of Customs, Alhaji Dikko Imbe Abdullahi, the comptroller General of Prisons, Zakari Ohinoyi Ibrahim, Comptroller general Immigration, Aihaji R. D. Musa. The richest man in Africa, Aihaji Aliko Dangote, about 35 percent of the petroleum marketers are from the north, about 85% of oil blocks are owned by the northerners, about 99$% of beggars in Nigeria are Northern, what a paradox. This explains why the Boko Haram wax stronger beefed up by copious supplies of lethal weapons and sophisticated ammunitions smuggled through their porous boarders under the supervision of their follow northerners at the helm of immigration, and customs. In all these, yet we are more than conquers because the poorest state in Nigeria is in the North whereas the North still languishes as the most educationally backward state amidst the hidden agenda of the ‘northernization’ of Nigeria. Wow!!! What a
