Members of the movement for the Actualization of sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) have gone into hiding, after its December 10, 2012 protest at Eziagu in Enugu state.
They have deserted their shops and homes for fear of arrest and prosecution by law enforcement agents.
One of MASSOB members who took part in the protest, Mr. Nnadi Ikechukwu Martins, said he has suffered untold hardship since he took part in the protest
On the recent briefing by the members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, the deputy director of information of the group, Chris Mocha said that any action by MASSOB is informed by some development just as the house of the late literary icon, Nze Chinua Achebe in Ogidi, Idemili in Anambra state has been locked.
They also advised that Nigerians should come together for the actualization of their goals, and pleaded with the Federal Government and the opposition to do the right thing, instead of threatening the group and their leaders with legal prosecution. Mocha suggested that the burial of the late literary guru needs to be graced by the MASSOB, at both home and in Diaspora.
