Judges Told To Be Fair In Their Duties

Judges have been advised to be fair and courageous in order be able to carry out their jurisprudence without fear or favour.
Dr Livy Uzoukwu (SAN), gave the advice at a public presentation of “Essays on contemporary Issues of Law”, written by the Hon. Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Imo State, Barr. Soronnadi A. Njoklu, held at Ikemba Ojukwu Convention Centre, New Owerri, Imo State.
Dr Uzoukwu pointed out that the book highlights judicial autonomy, stressing the benefits of the book and such advised public office holders to function actively and effectively in their responsibilities so that the society will be virile.
He commended the author for his brilliance and dedication.
Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion, Justice Mary Odili, of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, who was represented by Justice Chioma Nwosu Iheme, , stated that the author of the book is a foremost, dedicated and hardworking lawyer.
Justice Odili urged the youths to shun social vices and be as hardworking and truthful as the book launcher so that poverty will be defeated.
Also speaking, Chief Mike Ahamba (SAN), emphasized that the “judiciary is not the cause of underdevelopment in Nigeria, but bad governance on the part of rulers”.
Chief Ahamba advocated for the order to be fair in their duty.
The book launcher, Barr Soronnadi A. Njoku, thanked all who honoured his invitation, as he prayed to God to bless them and replenish their pockets.
The book has 325 pages and 15 chapters. The book launch was attended by many personalities including the governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha and his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere.
