Following an alleged violation of his fundamental human right, intimidation, harassment, and threat to life Mr Ifeanyi Okponwa Eze, an Imo State based journalist has dragged Chief Christian Nnadumije Igwe to the Imo State High Court Orlu division in suit No HOR /33/2013 where he is praying the court for the following relief through his counsel Ikedi Agunkwu Esq.
First he is praying the court for a declaration that the harassment, intimidation threat to the life of the applicant without justification by the respondent is illegal, wrongful, unlawful, unconstitutional and constitute a flagrant violation of the applicants fundamental right as enshrined in section 33+ 39 of the 1999 constitution as amended and article 4&9 of the Africa Charter on Human and People’s Right.
Consequently praying for the following orders, restraining the Respondent Chief Igwe from further harassing, intimidating and threatening the life of the applicant, restraining the respondent and his privies from carrying out his unlawful and callous plans against the applicant and an order of the court compelling the Respondent to pay to the applicant the sum of fifty million naira only (N50,000,000) as damages for the breach of his fundamental rights.
