The six (6) names sent by Gov Owelle Rochas to Imo House of Assembly for screening and confirmation for reconstituted Imo state Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) sail through. The names of the ISIEC nominee and Local Government of origin are as follows: Barr Teddy Akwari from Ideato South as Chairman, Dr Godfrey Nwosu from Isiala Mbano as member, Dr Anosike Kyrian from Aboh Mbaise as member and Hon Godfrey Ihentuge from Ikeduru as member. Others are Barr (Mrs) Vero Ezeike from Orlu as member and Barr Emma Owette from Ideato North as member. The House asked the Governor to send one more nominee from Okigwe zone in order to balance the equation as stated by ISIEC Constitution to prevent Okigwe zone seeing it as marginalization. The speaker and Hon members congratulated them and urged them to give their transparent and selfless service to Imo state as expected of them.
Meanwhile, Mrs Ugo Anyanwu from Ezinihitte Mbaise was also screened and confirmed as the Auditor – General of the State. After been confirmed, the member representing Ikeduru state constituency; Hon Sam Anynwu said that her qualification and selfless service deserved her been appointed and confirmed by the House. He said that her name should be “God’s time is the best” because her appointment had been delayed severally. He urged her to use remaining 5 months before retirement and work for the State.
