AHIAZU DAGS DECRIES SLOW PACE OF ROAD WORK

Contractors handling 15KM State – Local Government joint road projects
in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA have been charged to redouble efforts and ensure
completion of the roads before the rainy season set in.
The LGA Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS), Chief
Innocent Ekwueme gave the charge in a meeting he held with them at the
Council Headquarters, Afor Oru.
He decried the slow pace of work on some of the roads and warned that
government would not take it kindly with contractors that delay the job
or fall short of standard.
Chief Ekwueme restated the determination of Governor Rochas Okorocha led
Rescue Mission Government to give Imolites better living standard via
massive infrastructure development and enjoined the contractors to queue
into the positive transformation and not be a clog in the wheel of
progress.
Speaking, the Head of Department Works, Engr. Patrick Kema reiterated
that the LG would not compromise standard and urged them to work
according to specification.
He reminded them that they have been fully mobilized and enjoined them
to work hard to meet up the target.
Responding on behalf of other contractors, Mr. Blessed Okoro of
Integrated  Services assured completion of the road on time in line with
specification and appealed for better funding.
