Notwithstanding the numerous plights of the rural dwellers to the government before the commencement of this harsh rainy season, nothing positive seemed to be done, up till now.

Justifying the fact, some roads in some of the rural areas of the state has finally turned to 2nd Niger Bridge which canoe ship or boat may be advisable to use. Amongst roads is the one leading from Awo-Omamma junction straight to Okwudor junction, and from Awo Umuokwe leading to Orie Amiri all in Oru East Local Government Area are really dilapidated.

The 1st heavy rainfall made it possible for travelers, marketers, and even motorcycles not to combat on any location following these routes. There was no way ahead, no diversion, nor any short route to follow. This is because the heavy rain that occurred on Friday 15th March, 2013 by 4.00pm attracted an eye sore from within. The most annoying part is that some motorcyclists trying to take the risk got drowned, but was rescued by colleagues.

That eventually increased the cost of transportation to an unbearable nature

The attention of the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and the people involved in road construction (ENTRACO) are therefore needed as an emergency, before the people’s hallucination of the 2nd Niger Bridge becomes a reality in these two mentioned villages.
