Imo State Milo Secondary School Basketball Championship Final Holds on Friday.

 

The 2013 Imo State Milo Secondary School Basketball Championship will on Friday March 15, come to a close as Rochas Foundation Secondary School take on Ikperejere Secondary School Ihitte – Uboma in the males final.

 

According to reports reaching Imo Trumpeta Sports desk, the final games for the male and female category will take place at the newly built Basketball Court of St. Pauls International Secondary School located at the Federal Housing Estate, Owerri.

 

The local organizing Committee Spokes man, Mr. Abara also revealed that in the female category, Amuzi Secondary School Ihitte-Uboma will be locking horns with Rochas Foundation Secondary School, Owerri.

 

He further stated that over 70 schools had in the past four weeks been engaged in the play-off games as Rochas Foundation School emerged for the finals to meet Ikperejere and Amuzi Sec. Sch’s both from Ihitte-Uboma in the male and female categories respectively.

 

The winners will proceed to represent the state at Enugu, venue for the Equatorial conference from 15th to 22nd April.

 

The Equatorial Conference Comprises Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Anambra, Enugu (Host), Ebonyi, Abia and Edo State were the champions in both the male and female category moves to Lagos for the grand finale.

 

This year will mark the 15th  edition of the Basketball Championship powered by Milo annually for all secondary schools in Nigeria aimed at discovering, nuturing and sporting skills of future champions. It is an annual event that saw no fewer than 5,000 secondary schools participate in the 2012 edition.

 

Only students of JSS1 – SS2 below the age of 17years are eligible to participate.
