APGA To Okorocha Return Or Go Forever

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has issued a riot act to Governor Rochas Okorocha to either return to the APGA fold or leave the party forever.

The party, ostensibly reacting to Okorocha’s desire to join the newly formed All Progressive Congress (APC), also advised the Imo State governor not to be  ashamed to return to APGA if so desires.

Speaking to journalists in Owerri, the Deputy National Chairman of the party, Chief Ejike Uche, said the doors of the party is still wide open for him, describing the APC as the political obituary of the Igbos.

He stated that the APC cannot the serve the interest of the Igbos, stressing that APGA is not only a party for the Igbos but has attained a status that makes it more than a political party.

He stated that members of the party including those in Diaspora recently converged in Enugu where they renewed their pledge to remain in APGA, describing the APC as an amalgam of strange political bedfellows in the country.  He said APGA is opposed to the idea of using Igbos as bait for political merchandising.

Uche  said soon the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) will take place where far reaching measures will be taken to sanitize and restructure the party and ensure it remains formidable not only in the South East but across the federation.

He stated that he has been receiving death threats through text messages since the party state executive in the state led by Prince Marshal Okoroafor  Anyanwu  was sacked. He maintained that Chief Tony Mgbeahuruike is now the interim state chairman of the party in the state.

In his speech, the interim Imo APGA Chairman, Chief Tony Mgbeahuruike said there is no faction in APGA in the State, stressing that APGA in the State remains formidable.

He alleged threats to his life by the ousted chairman of the party, advising him to tow the path of civility in politicking.
