Pool Betting and Gaming Board Sec. Donates Modern Toilet facilities to Aboh Mbaise School

The Executive Chairman, limo State Universal Basic Education Board, Amb. Chief Dr (Mrs.) Ejiogu said it is part of the social responsibility of Imo citizens to help improve the lots of primary education in the State. Speaking at the commissioning  ceremony of the VIP toilets built by Hon. Dennis Adikwuru for Community School, Umukohie, Uvuru, Aboh-Mbasie LG.A, she stated that the project, built according to UNICEF standard of VIP toilet will enhance the health and environmenal status of the school. She remarked that Imo SUBEB is very proud of the mentorship qualities of Hon Adikwuru and enjoined other citizens of the State to emulate his philanthropic gesture since government alone cannot provide the citizenry with every amenity. She said the Board will accord due recognition to Hon. Adikwuru during 2013 education week programme.

 

The Education Secretary, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Education Authority, Mr. Nwachukwu S.O in his remarks, thanked Hon. Adikwuru for his magnanimous gesture and charged other well public spirited individuals in the community to emulate the initiative of the school mentor. In his address, the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Eze L.O requested for more teachers as the school with 287 pupils has only five teachers including the Headmaster. He said the pupils lack sufficient desks besides lageing and dilapidated structures

philanthropic and charity related gestures .

Hon Adikwuru disclosed that he saw the pit toilet as an abnormality when the present generation is using sanitary toilets which inspired  hygiene friendly VIP toilets for teachers and pupils of the school as he wants to He said bringing the IMSUBEB boss is to let her have a feel of the expectations of his people for government to assist in infrastructural development and posting of teachers to the school.

The only government presence in the school he noted, after 31 years was N200,000 received from Governor Okorocha to carry out minor repairs and build the uniform school sign board.
