The parish priest of Christ the King Catholic Church Oru Ahiara gave the
warning in his sermon marking the configuration of the Lord Jesus
Christ.
He admonished Christians not to give themselves to materialism, indecent
dressing and sexual immorality or the devil would mess them up like
Adam and Eve.
Fr. Nzewunwa reminded them that their bodies are temple of God and
reiterated need for holy and righteous life to merit eternity.
The clergy cautioned against seeking for pleasure and riches by all
means, frowning against inordinate wealth pursuit by the new age and
urged Christians to be steadfast in prayer to overcome all challenges
and surmount adversaries.
He decried lack of unity and peace among Igbos, increasing armed
robbery, kidnapping, ritual killings and terrorism by the Boko Haram
sect and other atrocities in Nigeria, urging them to eschew hatred,
infighting and bickering, acrimony, dichotomy and politics of calumny
for sustainable growth and development.
The clergy advised the wicked to have a change of heart and live in fear
of God to avert His wrath.
