The Speaker of IMHA, Rt. Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu has stated that the twelve years leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the state was a waste.
Hon Uwajumogu stated this while declaring open an induction ceremony of new members of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) at Ikemba Ojukwu Centre, Owerri.
He said that it was embarrassing that PDP caged Imo state in the past years of its leadership, stressing that there was no meaningful project the governors who served under PDP platform recorded. He further added that the only achievement of PDP was fraud and the looting of public funds of the state.
Hon. Uwajumogu however said that the rescue mission government has achieved a lot in the past two years, causing Imo people to smile always.
In his speech, the National President of the Association, Hajia Maryam Ibrahim, noted that the idea of this year’s MCPD programme is to identify the challenges encountered while implementing the international financial reporting standards and proffer solutions on how to overcome such upheavals.
She said that the Association is working with other Government agencies to adopt fraud prevention mechanism, using “whistle blowing” as a fundamental tool in reducing the incidence of corporate corruption to its barest minimum in the country.
The president used the occasion to call on Imo government to build a befitting secretariat in Owerri as the Association is in dire need of it.
On Uwajumogu’s accusation, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, through its State Publicity Secretary, Chief Blyden Amajirionwu described Uwajumogu as a man who double-speaks before thinking.
Amajirionwu wondered how the Speaker who claims he is a registered member of the PDP is accuses the same party of fraud.
“It is a waste of time replying to Uwajumogu. He is a confused man and does not know what he is talking about. He says he is a PDP man, today, and tomorrow he attacks the same party” Amajirionwu said.
The Imo PDP spokesman said Uwajumogu does not have the mental capacity to judge any administration, because he lacks the know-how of how Government works.
