Eze Ohiri is Popular Side Complaint
Who said Imo Weekend Trumpeta wave-making page, POPULAR SIDE is not attracting attention and readership? The must-read page has many fans and the Chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri, could be said to be one. Sometime last year, during the ember months, POPULAR SIDE reported about the poor state of sign post indicating the location of the palace of Eze Ohiri. The sign post situated on the Owerri Orlu Road was an infradig to Eze Ohiri if his position as Eze Imo is to be considered. The worn out signpost with an emaciated iron rods was an eyesore to passers by who made use of that road. However, on getting the knock from POPULAR SIDE, Eze Ohiri immediately responded by sending his men to remove the underserved sign post. POPULAR SIDE can authoritatively reveal that a new sign post similar to the one being used by the state government to indicate government agencies in the state has been put in place. The new sign post is not only a masterpiece but also a deserved one. At least some people must have made a fortune from the contract. Who said Trumpeta is not working! Eze Imo Biri kwe oooo

When Is APC Flag Changing APGA Colours In Imo?
One common feature of the present administration is the APGAnisation of some Government structures. While it is not uncommon for parties ruling any state to show their power and use many tactics to flex muscles, APGA in Imo state adopted the “show our flag” system whereby the party flag was hoisted at Government House/Okigwe Road Roundabout and the Heroes Square in New Owerri. With the formation of APC which the APGA camp controlled by Okorocha is part of POPULAR SIDE wants to know when will APC flag replace APGA flag at the designated points? Oga Owelle must answer this because most of the APGA flags at the aforementioned points have been torn and some are suffering from weather. Who knows may be the person who supplied the flags or won the contract imported it from Taiwan like the free education uniform which came from China.

Hon Ndunagu’s Kitchen-Like Constituency Office
He is a political old war horse in Mbaitolu Local Government Area of Imo State. He is one of the foremost APGA stakeholders in the area judging from the numerous periods he sought political office using the APGA platform. His luck clicked two years ago and he became the Member Representing Mbaitolu in the House of Assembly. The person is Hon Victor Ndunagu. What is worrying POPULAR SIDE about Ndunagu’s representation of Mbaitolu State Constituency is the type of Constituency office he opened in his domain. The constituency office POPULAR SIDE saw at Nworieubi, near the council headquarters is more like a kitchen house. If House Members from Njaba, Isu or Nwangele would have a spacious office for constituents why would Ndunagu toy with a pint-size office that its door has remained closed most of the time? The small sized shop cannot contain his Ifakala people not to talk of Mbieri, Orodo, Ubomiri, Ogbaku, Umunoha and Afara constituents who may storm his local office for interactive sessions. Hon Ndunagu, should no that the Rescue train is moving to Mission, no more tight-hand.

Dr Vin Udoukwu is a household name in Imo state. A former commissioner for health during Ikedi Ohakim regime, Udoukwu, a medical Doctor turned politician acted for eight years as Chief of Staff to his Amaifeke kinsman, former Governor Achike Udenwa. Apart from the offices he held, Udokwu can be remembered for spending a considerable number of months in the hands of wicked kidnappers who abducted him. For several months the die-hard gunmen kept him in their den fuelling speculations that he may have been killed. But God touched the heart of his captives who later released him. Today, Udoukwu is a free man and walks around freely. Last weekend, Udoukwu was spotted at a burial in Orlu LGA and POPULAR SIDE was told that the soft-spoken and kind politician is not afraid of kidnappers anymore. Having spent months with them he is no longer afraid to face the ordeal. But POPULAR SIDE prays such misfortune does not befall him again ooo because it was learnt that his looks almost changed to animalistic figure when he was released by the kidnappers.

Mbaise Nation & Pope Benedict Resignation
When the news filtered into the air that Pope Benedict of the Catholic Church would resign by Feb 28, 2013, most Mbaise people reportedly went into jubilation. POPULAR SIDE was told that since the out-going Pope Benedict sanctioned the appointment of the rejected new Bishop of Ahiara Diocese who has been granted persona non grata by the congregation for not coming from the mother diocese, the Mbaise people, especially the Catholic faithful are hopeful that the new and incoming Pope may hearken to their plea for a Bishop of Mbaise extraction. They contend that the deteriorating health worries may have led Pope Benedict to appoint the reject new Bishop. POPULAR SIDE is asking Mbaise Catholic to put their Chaplets into water for the miracle of Ahiara Diocese when a new head of the Catholic Church takes over after Lenten session.
