Imo football fraternity is set to witness the invasion of a new but vibrant football club that is ready to storm both the state league and the state’s challenge cup competitions.
The State’s Security and Civil Defence Corp football team which has been around for about six years has decided to competitively challenge for honors in this years state football competitions which will help to announce them into the national arena.
According to the team manager, sup. Of corp. Esiegbu Festus stated that his team will be competiting for the two major competitions in the state while expressing his pleasure over their new commandant Mr. Adamu Soja whom he said is just 3 months old in the state but has shown and promised to continue supporting the team all the way.
Festus who was confident of his team thanked the commandant for showing his team all the support within this short period of time proving that he’s lads will not disappoint when the competitions begins.
Also speaking team coach along with his assistant Mr. Udegbunam Sylvanus and Orisakwe Henry both (Asst. Sup.) declared that their players are ready for the league and FA cup adding that their track record during their friendly games within their six years of existence will go a long way to put their team in the right frame of mined against any opposition.
Coach Sylvanus who was boastful of his teams victories over teams like Pakat Fc, Heartland Juniors, military team form Obinze, Police machine etc assured that he has in his fold tested players who will help to strengthen the players drawn from corp office.
Mr. Esiegbu further informed that the idea of having the corp football team in the state was born out of series of efforts made to keep the officers fit and which has grown into a full blown football team that can compete against any team and also help to Fitch out hidden talents for the state and the nation at large.
