Rather than the rate of activities to improve at Rochas Foundation Schools across the federation, Imo Trumpeta checks has it that the schools are almost a shadow of itself. This is sequel to the mass exodus of staff and pupils of the schools who allegedly claim that they could not meet up with the demand and conditions at the schools. The schools which are owned by the Imo State Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha had since its inception been run as a tuition free institution for the less privileged till late.
According to our investigation, Governor Okorocha shortly after his election as the Governor of Imo State transferred the management of the schools to his daughter.
The story further has it that rather than apply funds injected in the schools judiciously, allegations are that the daughter of the Governor mismanaged it to the bewilderment of the father. And as part of injecting more funds into the management of the degenerating schools, the daughter a week ago addressed the various heads of the institutions where she charged them to source for funds for the operation of the schools. Over 60% of the teachers our investigation revealed has forcefully withdrawn their services from the schools because of poor payment of salaries as well as the pupils who no longer enjoy the largesse and goodwill for which the schools were known for in the past.
