•Villagers say it’s sacrilege
The sleeping Eziama Ubakala community, in Umuahia, capital of Abia state was awaken in nostalgia on December 24, 2018 , when two middle aged men,Messrs Stanly Irokwe and Chidiebere Osondu were caught pants down in a room by irate youths, having anal sex,an act forbidden as taboo in the area.
It was gathered that one of them, Stanly Irokwe was arrested by the Nigeria Police when the matter was reported ,following the unexpected death of Chidiebere Osondu, his sex mate .
The irate youths, it was reported heavily assaulted both gays which led to the death of one of the sex partners, Chidiebere.
Consequently, the attention of the Nigerian Police was drawn to the unholy act of homosexuality resulting to death and the case was reported by a village head of Eziama Ubakala, community, Chief Aloy Anyanwu as a result of complaints from the irate youths.
The youths of the community were said to have been angered by the act engaged by Stanly Irokwe and Chidiebere, both gay having anal sex , a sacrilege by their culture.
It was also gathered that the angared youths descended violently on the duo.
The impact of torture by them especially on Chidiebere Osondu made him to slip into coma and later died.
Tension mounted in the once serene community, hence the involvement of the police.
Report said as at the time the community leader, Chief Aloy Anyanwu arrived at the scene, Chidiebere Osondu had passed on.
During the interacation with Police, Chief Aloy informed the IPO that a lady, one Joy brought a report to him that her Son ( a child she had with Mr Stanly Irokwe ) was ‘kidnapped’ by Mrs Nneoma, Stanly’s grandmother.
He said Joy showed some evidences ( memory card and pictures) which had snippets of immoral sex clips , showing Stanly Irokwe is a gay.
Chief Aloy said Joy was angry that Mrs Nneoma, who convinced her to marry Stanly, her grand son deceived her to marry a homosexual .
There after the Police and youths had to search for , and arrest Stanly Irokwe.
It was gathered that it was in the effort to effect the arrest of Mr Stanly, that he was met having anal sex with the said Chidiebere ( his sex mate) in his room .
“The youths barged into Irokwe’s room and caught the two young men pants down in the immoral gay act.”
It was further said that the angry youths, then began to torture both of them on their way to the village leader’s house, it was a free for all beatings, which led to the death of the victim, Chidiebere Osondu.
Stanly Irokwe was thereafter interrogated and remanded in Police custody, afterwards, while the body of his sex partner was deposited in the morgue.
Having spent three days in Police net, Irokwe was reported to have escaped on December 27, 2018.
As at the time of filing this report, the Police informed that his whereabouts is unknown, even as the suspect’s escape from the Police cell has been described as mysterious .
Consequently, the Abia Police command is reported to placed serious manhunt for Irokwe and other criminal suspects who were said to have eloped with him for various acts.
The Police have since declared Stanly Irokwe and the others wanted.
It will be recalled that in line with recent law passed by the Nigeria National Assembly, NASS if nabbed, Stanly Irokwe will be tried and may serve a jail sentence of 14 years imprisonment for such act of Homosexuality or Lesbianism.
