. Staff Of Ministry Of Sports In Police Net Over Fraud Allegations Risk Sack

A staff of ministry of sports was arrested on Monday 5th of August 2024 for allegedly defrauding over 10 people at state secretariat complex owerri.
The man in question whose names were with held for obvious reasons is said to have collected six hundred naira from 10 people purposely to give them job at the LOCAL GOVERNMENT Areas of IMO STATE.
Report has it that the young man,A LEVEL 10 CIVIL SERVANT from OBOWO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA of IMO STATE and father of 3 children moths back told his colleagues that he has connection to secure Job for people especially at the LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS of lmo state and he was able to convince some of the ladies at the state secretariat who fell into his trap. He also used them to get to the other people who are looking for job.
The young man in question also went about telling workers whose salaries were with held for some months now that he can help them to get their salary back.
The people he defrauded told our roving reporter that each of them gave him part payment of sixty thousand Naira as he demanded.

Information revealed that the young man collected the 600,000 and disappeared, even his colleagues could not see him again.
Luck ran out of him on Monday 5th of August 2024 when he stormed the state secretariat to collect money from one of the female civil servants who he promised to help to get all her salaries that were with held for months now.
One of the security officer who said he was among the victims got information that the man in question is now at the state secretariat to collect another money from a female client.The security man (Army officer) did not waste any time at all to go there and eventually grabbed him and arrested the job man without delay.
Before he was taken to the New Owerri Police Station, the ladies that he duped all came out to hold him and if not the intervention of those around, the alleged fraudster would have been lynched.
The job man told our reporter that he used the whole money he collected from people to process his visa to travel abroad hoping that when he get out of the country, he will make money to pay back those he duped.
There are serious indication that more scammers are hovering around the state secretariat complex to defraud people in the name of given them employment. Our source learnt that IMO STATE didn’t advertise for any employment at all.
Some of the workers who witnessed what happened described it as a show of shame and financial Embarrassment to the young man in question.
