DEACON IKOKU DOLES OUT CASH GIFTS TO HEARTLAND, PROMISES TWO MILLION NAIRA IF THEY WIN NPL


The Managing Director of All Seasons Hotel, Deacon Myke Ikoku on Thursday January 24, celebrated with the players and officials of Heartland FC for their heroic exploits in Nigerian football.

Speaking at the dinner party, organized for the all conquering team at Mimi’s place located along all seasons Avenue, new Owerri, Deacon Myke noted that he started following the team way back in his secondary school days and that up till now; he is still passionate with every game involving the Naze millionaires.

He praised the efforts of the management, technical crew and the players for a wonderful achievement of winning three trophies in space of four months with meagre resources.

Heartland on August 2012 won the Federation Cup for 2nd time by beating Lobi stars of Makurdi 2-1 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere Lagos. They also defeated Kano pillars (NPL champions) in December 2012 to cart away the charity cup also for the second time. And finally, they won the NPL’S pre-season’s Super Four   competition in Kano. The Hotel business mogul expressed his joy for then team when he made a cash presentation to both the players and officials to the tune of about 1 million naira. He then pledged that in every quota of the season he will be giving the management the sum of 500,000 naira and also promised to give the players the sum of 2million naira if they win this season’s NPL trophy.

Reacting to Ikoku’s gesture, the players and officials of the team appreciated the good will fellowship from Myke whom they described as a true Heartland fan. Captain of the team, Chinedu Efugh(Chicago) who spoke on behalf of the players promised that they will not relent on their efforts to achieve more glory pointing out that their target this season is to win the NPL and the CAF Confederation Cup.
