HRH Eze Dr (Sir) Peter U. Onyewuenyi has baged the prestigious leadership luminary award of the Nigeria Institute of public Relations (NIPR). Dr. Onyewuenyi is the Ezena III of Obibiezena, the Traditional Ruler of Obibiezena Ancient Kingdom.
Presenting the award, at De Legend Hotel & suits’ Hall last week Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Imo State Chapter described Obibiezena Monarch as a professional with distinction having obtained his doctorate degree in the United States of America. Sir Onyewuenyi also, in his Community leadership position, has been engaged in the community development programmes of his community and remains an acclaimed philanthropist cum humanitarian
Eze Onyewuenyi runs a sand dredging company as well as a big poultry farm, CORTNEY STAR FARMS, Obibiezena. Sources say, his poultry establishment is run for charity helping both widows and the less-privileged.
Speaking to TRUMPETA on receiving the award, the Obibiezena Ancient Kingdom royal father expressed his feelings this way:”Am very happy. This is the best of 27 awards I have so far received. I am proud to be counted among other awardees including the prominent Catholic prelate, Archbishop Emeritus of Owerri Archdiocese, His Grace, Most Rev. Anthony J.V Obinna and others nominated but screened down to the last four prominent citizens who are receiving the award together with me today”, he declared.
As a philanthropist, he used the forum to appeal to other monarchs to provide for widows and the less-privileged in society describing such benefactors as those “at risk families”.
According to him, such helps attract God’s blessings. “Personally, I have testimonies of rewards received for such care and support to the needy”, he explained. He added that such support includes scholarship awards for students.
Obibiezena royal father explained further that his business conglomerate includes sand dredging which has accumulated the biggest dump in the state. Consequently, he said, he is compelled to now offer 10% discount on every purchase. He disclosed that yearly, he offers 48 plots of land to prospective farmers especially widows and other less-privileged people plus additional support of N100,000 for labour force for crop cultivation. He added that agriculture is a crucial area of making wealth referring to the example of the United States of America which he said, is one of the richest places in the world where farming is very outstanding.
Nwachimereze, as he is popularly called, reports say, his CORTNEY STAR FARM, Obibiezena is the biggest poultry establishment in Imo State from where he draws strength for his donations/gifts to widows and the less-privileged during Christmas and Easter Celebrations, he concluded.
