Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Imo Chapter has congratulated Senator Hope Uzodinma on his second tenure governorship re-election victory.
The association disclosed this in a press statement endorsed by Rotn. Everest Ezihe and Mr. Tunde Liadi, the body’s Chairman and Secretary respectively even as they thanked Imo people for massively voting for the Governor so as to enable him sustain the execution of his people oriented programmes and policies.
The body admonishes Governor Uzodimma on the need to continue giving priority attention to sports development and transformation by meaningfully engaging the youths in grassroot sporting activities.
SWAN as an important stakeholder in the State’s road maps for the growth and advancement of sports, expressed her readiness to engage on collaborative partnership with the Shared Prosperity and 3 R Administrative mantra government.
The body expressed her willingness in partnering with Imo State Government to ensure that sports continue to take the front burner in the state’s 3R mantra for the betterment of her youths and other sporting challenges.
According to the statement ” it’s also our candid wishes that Heartland FC and Heartland Queens FC will not be starved of funding as the two clubs are too dear to Imo people.
“It’s also our fervent wish for the State to maintain sportive relevance by hosting some national competitions and upliftment of sporting infrastructures in the State” SWAN passionately advised.
