A Lawyer and Human Right Activist based in the Federal Capital, Abuja, Bar Raymond Onyeugo has asked the people of Ngor Okpala LGA to hold their sons and daughters in the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, responsible for the worrisome situation of the LGA presently.
Speaking to Media Men on his arrival at Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri, the Ngor Okpala born Legal Mind disclosed that since 1999 Democracy berthed in Nigeria, Ngor Okpala has not had it so bad like in the Administration of Senator Hope Uzodinma.
He therefore charged the people of Ngor Okpala to shun Uzodinma and APC in the Saturday election, as both do not deserve Ngor Okpala peoples votes.
He lamented that despite the fact that Ngor Okpala is strategic to the development of Imo State, for hosting the Imo Airport, her large land mass and heavy population, the Uzodinma and APC Government in the State have not even one project to point at as reason to call for Ngor Okpala Electorate to vote for them.
He said that the recent visit of the Governor to Ngor Okpala LGA was humiliating as according to him, the Leaders of APC in the LGA committed a sacrilege by hosting the Governor in a community in the LGA, instead of the usual Council Headquarter, Umuneke, which has remained the custodian of such visits by such high personalities.
“Why would a Governor of Imo State visiting Ngor Okpala LGA be hosted in Nguru, when there is Umuneke, the Headquarter of the LGA?” Onyeugo asked.
The Lawyer maintained that he suspected that the APC Leaders in the LGA were avoiding the Governor seeing the bad shape of the road leading to the Council Headquarter, which he alleged may have been awarded by the Governor, which they don’t want him to see. He also lamented the State of the Council Headquarter itself which has been in a state of decay, since the present administration.
He wondered why Ngor Okpala LGA did not follow the footsteps of Aboh Mbaise LGA that hosted the Governor in their LGA Headquarter.
“The people of Ngor Okpala will be doing themselves wrong by voting a Governor that doesn’t care about them, only to visit them to ask for their votes. If he could not care for you now, is it in his second term he will remember you people, assuming he wins?” Onyeugo asked.
