Imo Unfortunate To Have Uzodinma As Governor- Kemdi Opara

Ahead of November 2023 Imo Guber election, the Candidate of Young Progressive Party YPP, Chief Dr Kemdi Opara has blown hot against Governor Hope Uzodinma insisting that he does not deserve continuity.

The YPP guber candidate made this declaration over the weekend during his meeting with selected Newspaper Publishers in Imo State.

According to the Governorship hopeful, Imo is indeed unfortunate to have Senator Hope Uzodinma as Governor adding that a lot of blunders have been committed which needed to be corrected, therefore supporting Uzodinma to go for another 4 years means adding more pains and tears to Imolites. He raized eyesbrow on the insecurity that is increasing on daily bases, unpaid salaries and pension coupled with unpreccessed results of first school leaving certificate of education, Junior WAEC, NEBTAB and others which according to him have not been released and published for more than three years now.

Kemdi made it clear that if given the mandate to preside over the affairs of Imo as Governor, he will tackle the issue of insecurity seriously by making sure that the youths are adequately empowered, pay the backlog of salaries of Imo workers and pensioners who have not received a  kobo since three years now, provide enabling environment for investors to come and add values to Imo State.

Chief Opara flanked by the leaders of YPP guber campaign council which include Hon Mike Anyanwu, Hon Clinton Obiyo among others noted that the Igbo of the South East cannot continue  shouting of marginalization in Nigeria when a particular Area (Orlu) in Imo State has held power consistently for 20 years and is still asking for another four years.

Opara who scored the present administration of Dist Senator Hope Uzodinma low hinted that part of his strategy will be to deploy every mechanism through constructive dialogue between those aggrieved sections, the committee of civil society and the Government to proffer workable frame work for enduring sustainable peace and security of the State.

Also he promised to reposition Imo Civil Service and make it more result oriented. Kemdi maintained that all workers must add value and if elected Governor in the November 11 guber election things are going to be changed for better. He said he will provide world class infrastructural facilities in Imo State, provide good roads, health at your door step, revive the education sector, take good care of old and pregnant women as well as industrialize Imo.

On the issue of Imo Charter of Equity, he stated clearly that it is the turn of Owerri zone to produce the next Governor and so shall it be he declared.

He announced that Mr Diala is no longer the State Chairman of YPP.

The guber hopeful insisted that Diala was suspended by the National Working Committee NWC of YPP due to alleged anti party activities. He also said a vote of no confidence was passed on Diala by the party in the State.
