Secretary to Imo State Government, Prof Anthony Anwuka has come under fire from prominent Orlu Zone leaders for his incessant attacks on the leadership of Orlu Zone Youth Assembly (OYA).
The latest attacks of the SGI on OYA leadership led by Comrade Precious Nwadike took place at St Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Eziama-Ubulu, Oru-West LGA where a notable politician and community leader, Chief Chukwuemeka Mgbenwelu was thanking God for his 50 years of marriage.
According to findings by Imo Trumpeta, the animosity of SGI against OYA reared its ugly head, when the celebrant, Chief Mgbenwelu out of joy introduced the OYA leadership for honouring his invitation.
While the celebrant was introducing the leadership of OYA, Prof. Anwuka was said to have started shouting at the host to stop.
He was appealed to stop shouting by some leaders from the zone who were sitting close to him.
It was also gathered that Prof Anwuka stood up from his sit after Comrade Nwadike had donated N20,000 on behalf of OYA to donate N30,000 on behalf of what he tamed authentic youths of Orlu, his area of control.
When contacted on the phone, the Chief ex-officio of OYA was present at the event, Comrade Darlington Uzoahia loaring the SGI to stay clear of OYA.
Comrade Uzoahia asserted that they were only respecting Prof Anwuka because of his old age, saying that any further attempt by the SGI to insult the president in particular and OYA at large will leave them with no option than to take drastic actions against him.
The OYA Chieftain maintained that its body is an organization of progressively minded youths from Orlu Zone who are championing the cause of a better Orlu Zone with high sense of decourum and sincerity, describing the action of the SGI as not being mature, legal and an insult to professorship.
Present at event include were the ex-Governor of the State, Chief Achike Udenwa, Hon Gerry Alagbaso, Barr Chuma Izunobi, Eze John Nwosu, Justice P.C. Onumajuru, among others.
