Imo State Government through Commissioner for Science and Technology, Prof Boniface Nworgu and the founder, Hope rising initiative, Chief Obioma Success Akagburuonye in conjunction with the founder of Hemispheres Foundation, Singapore, Mrs Ann Phua to alleviate the sufferings of indigent women in rural communities.
Speaking during the courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Science and Technology Mrs Phua said, that her aims and objectives of coming to Imo state was to let the state know about her foundation and her plans to empower and encourage women to start using improved stove which she promised to donate 200 thousand improved stove to help them alleviate their suffering they pass through using fire wood.
She used the opportunity to enumerate, her concern of climate change globally, as she encouraged people to also used improved stove in other not to be endangering their health.
Furthermore Mrs Ann Phua, announced her plan to train some young qualified Nurses who will be re-train in Australia, as while as youths submit which will take place later in the year.
She used the opportunity to outline some of her programmes to include, Environment Camps , Overseas CIP, Workshops and Informative Talks ,Outdoor Environment Events , Social Projects, Actions for Earth Campaigns and Learning Academy.
Responding, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Prof Nworgu appreciated the founder of Hemispheres Foundation, Mrs Ann Phua for her initiative and for attracting such a huge empowerment programm to Imo state, and promised that Imo State Government through his ministry will give the programme all the necessary support it needs to succeed.
Prof Nworgu, informed her about some of the achievements of the 3R mantra of Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma on Youth empowerment to include Skillup, opening of Ministry of Digital Economy and sponsoring of Imo Youths on Skills.
“I am assuring you that our governor who is a listen governor will do all he can, to make sure that Imo Youths and women benefitted from this programme your foundation is bringing to Imo”.
Adding his voice, the founder of Hope -Rising, Chief Obioma Success Akagburuonye, said that he is optimistic that Hemispheres Foundation will fulfill all her promises haven known her for years, he also thanked Phua for choosing Imo state as among those that foundation will visit as he promised that her efforts will not be in vain .
Some of the Places visited include Ministry of Power Resources, Ministry of Homeland Security, Ephphatha High School and Imo Power Technology, as well as Apex Leader Owerri zone Prince Lemmy Akakem .
In their separate remarks, Commissioner for Power Resources, Lady Ann Dozie , Commissioner for Homeland Security Dr Ugorji Okechukwu Ugorji , Director Imo Power Technology Mr Godson Akaraka O and High Chief Lemmy Akakem appreciated Ann Phua for her show of Love towards Imo women, as they assure her that all the items when shipped down, will get to those who is meant for, describing the governor as God sent, who according to them has provided all the necessary tools for the smooth run of the state.
