De Plaza Oriental Hotel Boss, Azubuike Commends  St John’s Anglican Church, New Owerri Over Anniversary

The Chief Executive Officer of De Plaza Oriental Hotels Limited Orlu , Imo State Mr Ebuka Azubuike has Commended   the Clergy men , women and members of  St John’s (Anglican) Church, New Owerri over  her 36h year Anniversary .

The event which took place at the St. John’s (Anglican) Church Auditorium witnessed the presence of notable  clergymen including venerable Zion Ngorka who represented the Lord  Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Owerri, Rt. Rev. Chukwuma C. Oparah Ph.D JP and President of women’s Ministries, Mrs Chidiebere C. Oparah.

The Vicar/Archdeacon of the Church in new Owerri, Venerable Paul and Mrs Ebele Nwozuzu, the curates, Venerable and Mrs George and Nkechi Njoku, and Reverend Prince and Mrs ljeoma Okii, the Chairman Anniversary committe,

Dr. Jideuma Egwim, father’s coordinator, Mr Eze Nwaogu, Mr Ebuka Azubuike amongst others were also present at the celebration.

Delivering a message from the vicar’s desk, the Archdeacon, Venerable Paul

Uzochukwuamaka Nwozuzu gave thanks to God for his faithfulness (Ephesians

5:20) with theme of the event: “Give thanks”

The Vicar, Venerable Paul Nwozuzu said giving thanks is a healthy thing to do.  He  said for thirty-six years (36), St. John’s Church has experienced and harvested testimonies  of diverse kinds, while urging St. John’s neighbours and friends to give thanks to God (Joshua 23:14, I Kings 8:56).

He said the wise way to give thanks is through Christ (Ephesians 5:16,20). He told

 newsmen  that they now have five parishes and many Churches.

In a chat with newsmen , Mr Ebuka  Azubuike a member of the sub Commitee on entertainment expressed happiness on the event which he described as a success , he said God has been so faithful to the Church and her members , he urged the church faithful  not to relent  and continue in their faith, in his words ” The church has gone through process , God has done well for us , i urge members to keep faith in the church and ministries ” he said.

Also speaking with  newsmen, the chairman Anniversary committee, Dr Jideuma Egwim MBBS. PhD, FMCFM, expressed joy over the turnout of event which birthed a uniform, brochure, award to Christian faithful  amidst a clement weather.

Dr. Jideuma Egwim who is the Medical Director of family care specialist Hospital,

New Owerri and a Chief consultant with the Federal University Teaching Hospital,

FUTH Owerri , former  chairman of Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, wrote in a welcome address that St John’s Anglican Church in 36 years has hosted 18 priests and produced five priests serving across several dioceses.

Stating further, Dr Jideuma  Egwim who co-signed the welcome address said St. John’s

(Anglican) Church, New Owerri has had five Pastor’s wardens, fourteen people’s wardens, many Church teachers, several sets of PCC members, numerous family leaders and a crop of dedicated lay members and the “exemplary Elite family” amidst 1he statutory arms of the Church, which assisted the Church in expansion in divers areas such as the establishment of the Christ Foundation Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools.

Other members of the 36″ Anniversary committee present at the event include the

Co-chairman of committee, Sir Chukwuma Uchegbu, Secretary-Osita

Chukwuemcka (Esq), co-secretary,  Eberechukwu Nwokike (Esq), amongst  others also  commended the anniversary respectively.
